A trauma‑focused therapy space in West Edmonton offering Somatic Experiencing and EMDR as well as cognitive approaches to help you heal past experiences, reduce anxiety, improve well-being, restore a sense of safety, and regulate your nervous system.
If you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected from yourself, or constantly on edge, you're not alone. Many people seeking trauma therapy or support for anxiety, depression, or PTSD feel this way- especially when their nervous system has been in survival mode for too long.
My name is Elizabeth and I am a Registered Clinical Social Worker, Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, and the Founder of Simply Healing Therapy in Edmonton, Alberta.
I specialize in trauma‑informed therapy, nervous system regulation, and somatic approaches to healing. I help people who are carrying the effects of trauma, chronic stress, or painful life experiences that leave them feeling exhausted, shut down, or caught in patterns that impact their mental health. Some also find themselves relying on coping strategies like substance use, self‑harm, or impulsive behaviours when things feel overwhelming.
You may be looking for a way to feel more grounded, more connected to yourself, or simply more able to move through life without feeling like you're constantly activated. You might be curious about Somatic Experiencing or EMDR therapy and are ready for an approach that goes beyond traditional talk therapy. These approaches can help you understand what’s happening in your body, process unresolved trauma, and build a more regulated, resilient nervous system.
Together, we will create a space where you begin to understand what's happening beneath the surface, process past distressing experiences, and develop more adaptive ways of responding to life's challenges.
If you’re curious about whether Somatic Experiencing, EMDR, or trauma‑focused support is right for you, I invite you to book a free 15‑minute consult. It’s a chance for us to connect, talk through what you’re looking for, and see if working together feels like a good fit.

First sessions often involve exploring your goals for therapy, what’s bringing you in at this time, and how I can best support you. We’ll also talk about the approaches I use and collaborate on a treatment plan that feels aligned with what you’re hoping to work toward.
-
I can currently direct bill to Medavie Blue Cross (including Canadian Armed Forces and Veteran’s Affairs Canada), Greenshield, Canada Life, Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB), and Alberta Blue Cross. I am also an approved provider for the Worker’s Compensation Board. If I’m not able to direct bill to your insurance provider, it’s usually very simple to submit your receipt for reimbursement. Clients are responsible for confirming that their plan covers services provided by a Registered Social Worker.
-
I reserve a limited number of sliding‑scale spots for clients who may find session costs to be a barrier. If this would be helpful for you, please reach out to me directly and we can talk through the options together.

I’m an LGBTQIA+‑allied therapist, and I offer a warm, affirming space for anyone exploring their gender identity, navigating transition‑related experiences, or exploring their sexual orientation. Whether you’re sorting through who you are, trying to make sense of changes, or just wanting a place where you don’t have to explain yourself, I look forward to supporting you.

My main office location is not accessible for individuals who are unable to use stairs. If you require an accessible option, we can meet virtually, or we can discuss an alternative office space near my main location that is available on Saturdays only.
